The Brooklyn Nets traded for Ben Simmons back in February but the former Philadelphia 76ers star still hasn’t played a game for his new team.
However, the team needs him now more than ever as they lost a stunning Game 1 of the first round to the Boston Celtics.
Having Simmons on their side could really help the Nets.
But what are the chances of that happening?
Nic Claxton on Simmons: “He’s coming along pretty good. He definite has a real good swagger about himself right now so I think the whole world really like to see him back out there and he would definitely help us out in a lot of ways.”

Nets star Nic Claxton made an encouraging comment about Simmons and his injury rehabilitation.
Claxton said: “He’s coming along pretty good. He definitely has a real good swagger about himself right now so I think the whole world [would] really like to see him back out there and he would definitely help us out in a lot of ways.”
Claxton isn’t wrong: Simmons would help out a lot.
Cleared For Contact
It was announced that Simmons was recently cleared for contact as he continues to get better from his back injury.
While head coach Steve Nash ruled Simmons out for Game 2 against the Celtics, he didn’t count out the idea of him coming back during the first round.
“He’s making progress,” Nash told ESPN.
“We’ll just see how he responds and see if he’s able to do more contact [on Wednesday],” Nash continued.
When Simmons comes back, he will be a pivotal piece of the team’s defense.
Throughout his career, he has been a very strong defensive presence and that’s exactly what Brooklyn wants from him.
For months now, fans have been eager to see Simmons play alongside Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
They won’t get their wish during Game 2 but there is a chance they might shortly after that.
