There is a good chance that Kevin Durant has played his last game for the Brooklyn Nets.
It is no secret that the star player desperately wants to leave the team and has demanded a trade multiple times now.
However, no deal has come together in the weeks since Durant requested his trade, despite the best efforts from some of the biggest teams in the league.
Trying to execute a trade in the NBA sounds exhausting lol (via @AdamHimmelsbach) https://t.co/rJNmCMsz6F pic.twitter.com/5J5pGCKWcH

That is because Durant is such a big superstar that the Nets are demanding everything and the kitchen sink in return for him.
They sure are trying hard.
Tom Westerholm points out that the Nets initially attempted to get both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown from the Celtics in exchange for Durant but that deal never came together.
Recently, the Nets shifted their focus to a potential package that centered around Brown, Marcus Smart, and a bunch of future first-round draft picks.
The Celtics were not too keen on that plan, understandably.
Will a deal around Durant ever really come together or is this just too hard to pull off?
King’s Ransom For KD
You can’t blame the Nets for demanding a lot in exchange for Durant because he really is one of the best players in the league.
But are they perhaps asking for too much?
It sure seems that way since the proposed deals mentioned above aren’t the only ones that have fallen apart.
Again and again, the Nets have tried to grab several superstars and future draft picks for Durant.
Every time, the other teams have shot these deals down.
It seems increasingly unlikely that the Nets will be able to find a squad to give them exactly what they want.
That means they will have to settle or strap in for an awkward time with Durant coming back to Brooklyn.
