NBA Writer Shares Important Question For Lakers Ownership

The NBA season is over for the Los Angeles Lakers and now it’s time to take a good, hard, long look at what went wrong.

The short answer: a lot.

There was so much dysfunction and trouble within the Lakers this year that it’s hard to pin it all on just one person.

However, the blame game has begun and now the media is trying to find the weakest link within the Lakers organization.

I would like Jeanie Buss to explain on the record why she feels that the coaching staff did a worse job than the front office this season. I think that's information that the fans deserve to know, assuming Rob Pelinka and Kurt Rambis are retained this offseason.

NBA writer Sam Quinn wants LA owner Jeanie Buss to do some explaining.

Specifically, he wants her to explain why she believes the coaching staff did a worse job than the front office.

There is a heated debate right now about who screwed up more: was it the front office or the coaches that led the Lakers down the wrong path?

Enough Blame To Go Around

The front office of the Lakers were the ones that put together the trade package that sank the team this year.

Adding Russell Westbrook was a bad, bad idea and he never fit in well with the team.

Now LA is saddled with Westbrook’s massive contract and they have very few options to get rid of him.

This has led many to say that Rob Pelinka, Kurt Rambis, and others running the show are at fault for the team’s atrocious year.

But others say Frank Vogel and his coaching team are the ones who messed it all up.

Despite having months and months to adjust and figure out the right lineup, the team never stayed consistent and it looked like Vogel could make any combination of players work.

Yes, there were a lot of injuries that plagued the team but it looked like Vogel was just utterly confused about what to do at times.

In the end, it was a combination of both the front office and the coaches that dug the grave the Lakers are currently in.
