The last week was full of a lot of excitement within the NBA.
This is because the league finally released the official 2022-23 schedule.
This gave fans their first look at the games ahead and the challenges that await their favorite teams.
Yes, followers of the league were incredibly excited about the schedule’s release but the excitement was confusing to some.
I don't get why reacting to the NBA schedule release became a thing that we do.
They'll play 82 games. They'll play teams in the other conference 2x and most teams in their own conference 4x. The games will happen over a 7 month span.
That's it. That's the news.

Derek Bodner didn’t really understand all the hype.
“I don’t get why reacting to the NBA schedule release became a thing that we do. They’ll play 82 games. They’ll play teams in the other conference 2x and most teams in their own conference 4x. The games will happen over a 7 month span. That’s it. That’s the news,” he said on Twitter.
It’s understandable to think that people are getting a bit carried away with their delight at the schedule but, at the same time, you can see why fans are so elated.
New Season, New Opportunities
Yes, the release of the schedule doesn’t really do a whole lot.
It just shows the games that will be played.
And yes, there are many matches throughout the year so you can’t really gain a lot of information simply by reading the schedule.
But people are jazzed because the start of the new season is now closer and that’s cause for celebration.
NBA fans are a diehard breed and they will get fired up about anything related to the game.
Is reacting to the schedule’s release a little silly?
Maybe, but it’s plain to see where people are coming from.
They are eager for their favorite teams to be back on the court and the release of the schedule is just one more step towards that.
