The NBA is currently full of some of the best players in the history of the game.
Right now, there is a superstar on nearly every team and it’s not uncommon to hear of multiple SportsCenter-worthy performances each night.
While there are many things to celebrate within the NBA and the players participating, the best athletes in the league are usually judged by how many points they can put up.
Right now, there are more than a few who can put up a lot.
We somehow have 7 guys averaging 30+ PPG this season.
It’s only happened 79 times in NBA history.

Bill Simmons pointed out that there are currently 7 NBA stars averaging 30+ points a night right now.
This has only happened 79 times in NBA history, Simmons noted.
The guys scoring at least 30 a night are the usual suspects: Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics, Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of the Oklahoma City Thunder, and Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets.
In a league full of impressive, powerful, unstoppable scorers, these players are showing why they are the best.
Numerous NBA Noteworthies
There are several names on that list who are right now in contention for this season’s MVP trophy.
Conventional wisdom says that Doncic and Antetokounmpo are at the top of that list.
However, each of these players is the leader of their team and is showing all sorts of growth and success, and power.
Gilgeous-Alexander is particularly exciting as he is bursting out on a team that is still struggling.
And Durant is alos putting up such incredible totals even though his team is lacking in just about every way.
A high-scoring total isn’t everything in the NBA but it does count for a lot.
These players are making it count every night.
