After months of speculation, rumor, and tough competition, it was revealed on Monday morning that Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets will be the 2021-22 NBA MVP.
That’s a major, huge accomplishment for the big man and means that he is just one of a few athletes to win MVP back-to-back two years in a row.

The news spread across the internet like wildfire and many people weren’t too surprised.
For months now, there were many analysts and fans who predicted that Jokic would win MVP again.
His season average of 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists only strengthened his case of winning the big prize.
The web was full of hot takes about Jokic’s triumph.
Most of them were complimentary, a few were critical, but none of them could deny that Jokic is something truly special.
MVP (Again)
Jokic’s MVP win is a major accomplishment but it’s just one of many he’s had this year.
In 2021-22, Nikola Jokic became the first player in NBA history to record at least 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, and 500 assists in a single season.
He became the sixth player in NBA history to lead his team in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks in the same season. https://t.co/ZtYcsgOff2

As Justin Kubatko pointed out on Twitter, Jokic earned the honor of becoming the first player in the NBA to record at least 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, and 500 assists in a single season.
He is also the sixth NBA star in history to lead his team in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks during the same season.
Therefore, even if he didn’t win the MVP, he still would have been incredibly proud of this historic season.
Other people wanted to point out how far he’s come.

Not only is Nikola Jokic the greatest Nugget of all-time (and it's not close), he's pushing Elway and Sakic for greatest athlete in Denver sports history. Congrats, Joker! 🐐🃏
