There were plenty of NBA teams that came into this season with high expectations.
But a few have regressed through the first month of the NBA season.
We have even seen a couple of the conference finalists from last year yet to find their stride in the new season.
Even though there is still plenty of time left to play in the year, here are two teams that have regressed thus far.
1. Miami Heat
After finishing as the number-one seed in the Eastern Conference last year, the Heat have yet to find that magic again.
Through 21 games the Heat are 10-11 and find themselves in tenth place in the East.
One problem for their team has been the unavailability of Jimmy Butler.
Butler has only played in 13 games this year and is averaging just over 20 points per game.
They will need to get him back to full strength if they want any chance of making a serious push this year.
2. Dallas Mavericks
Despite having the favorite for league MVP on their roster, the Dallas Mavericks still have a record of 9-10.
Luka Doncic is averaging 33.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game.
He is simply carrying the Mavericks night in and night out.
But, the problem is when Doncic has an off night, the Mavericks are most likely going to lose.

The Mavericks will need to find another scoring option they can count on nightly.
After Doncic their second-leading scorer is averaging 16.8 points per game.
The Mavericks made a run to the Western Conference Finals last year before falling to the Warriors.
If they want to get back to that spot this season, the Mavs need to get Doncic some help.
