Welcome to the hottest club in the NBA, DeMar DeRozan.
On Thursday night, DeRozan of the Chicago Bulls scored 50 points in a game against the Los Angeles Clippers.
It’s an amazing feat, to be sure, but DeRozan wasn’t the first to do it this year.
As of today 14 different players have scored 50+ points this season, breaking the record set in the 2018-19 season (13). https://t.co/MfJ2o0unQL

In fact, 14 different players in the league have scored more 50+ points this season, which breaks the record of 13 set in the 2018-2019 season.
Here’s the complete list of stars who have put up at least 50 this year:
Luka Doncic
DeMar DeRozan
That’s quite the fine company to be a part of.
Something In The Water
When you look at the list of the players who have scored 50-point games, you see some of the best players in the league.
This just goes to show why they are considered so great in the first place – they leave it all on the floor.
The most impressive performers on that list are Irving and Towns, who both scored 60 points each.
James, Irving, Tatum, and Durant should also be celebrating because they scored 50 or more twice.
50-point games aren’t that common so the fact that we are seeing so many is very special.
It proves that we are likely in the golden age of shooters for the NBA.
There has never been another point in league history with such effective and efficient point makers.
Will the next season have even more 50-point games?
And don’t forget that there are still a couple of weeks of games in this season which means there could be a few more players with 50 points soon.
