One of the biggest questions is this: Who will be the NBA Rookie of the Year for 2022-23?
There are many great new players entering the league but only one will rise above the rest and take home the coveted trophy.
Right now, it seems like the likeliest candidates for the award are Paolo Banchero of the Orlando Magic, Keegan Murray of the Sacramento Kings, and Jabari Smith Jr. of the Houston Rockets.
Each of these guys already have a lot of attention paid to them and it’s very possible they will be the best newcomer in the NBA.
The Odds Of Greatness
The majority of people think that the number one pick, Banchero, will be Rookie of the Year.
Sure enough, fans of the Magic are putting a lot on the young man’s shoulders.
Back when he played for Duke, Banchero brought his team all the way to the Final Four.
But Murray and Smith have great chances too.
Murray is known for this three-pointing shooting and could be part of a youthful, fun Kings this season: his 39.8% three-point shooting when he played in Iowa is enough to convince any Sacramento fan that he’s the future.
As for Smith, some have called him the best pure shooter from the 2022 draft, especially after some impressive games during the NBA Summer League.
Any three of these young men could storm the league and take it over in 2022-23.
