It’s been a rough summer for the Brooklyn Nets.
The Nets – and the rest of the NBA world – were shocked last week when they heard that Kevin Durant wanted to be traded from the team.
Shortly after that, it became apparent that the team would not only lose Durant but Kyrie Irving as well.
In just a few short months, the team could look completely different, missing its two biggest stars in place of other players who will have a hard time filling the void left behind.

NBA writer Nick Friedell was in front of the Barclays Center the other day, which happens to be undergoing some construction work.
A sign posted in front summed up the team perfectly: “Work In Progress.”
But will all the work being done end up with a better and brighter Brooklyn team?
Breaking Up Brooklyn
The last few days have been a huge headache for Brooklyn’s front office.
Make no mistake: Durant and Irving will definitely be shipped out from the team but it might be a while before that happens.
That’s because the Nets are going to make any deals work for them – they couldn’t care less how the two players feel about where they are going.
No, they are solely looking to find the best return for their team and the future of the franchise.
So the Nets could end up getting quite the haul for Durant and Irving – there might be a few All-Stars and quite a few draft picks on the way.
This could all work out well for the Nets and the upcoming team could actually be one with a lot of promise.
However, this whole situation will be a complete mess until the very end.NEXT: NBA Fans Recall An Unfortunate Ben Simmons Quote
