The first month of the NBA season is usually a feeling-out period for each team.
They are setting their rotations, and players are being ramped up to regular minutes.
While some players come out on fire to start the year, there are plenty that are struggling.
Here are three NBA players off to disappointing starts this season.
1. Ben Simmons
The Brooklyn Nets made a bold move in trading for disgruntled All-Star Ben Simmons last year.
But, that move is looking like a massive mistake for the Nets thus far.
Simmons did not play at all last season for Brooklyn, even though they needed him as they got swept in the first round of the playoffs.
Now this year, Simmons has been awful through four games.
The 26-year-old is averaging 5.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game.

He has never been a jump-shooter, but so far this season he is not shooting the ball at all.
Simmons averaged 4.3 attempts per game, and that is not going to cut it.
The Nets need Simmons to be aggressive and take more shots.
If not, the move to acquire Simmons last year will turn into a total disaster.
2. Chris Paul
Chris Paul has been very good in this league for a long-time.
But, his start to this season may be an indication that he is slowing down.
Despite the 3-1 start to the season for the Phoenix Suns, Paul has struggled to get going.
The 37-year-old is averaging 9.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 10.3 assists per game.
He has always been among the tops in the league in assists but his inability to score is a problem.
Paul is shooting 36.8% from the field and if he does not turn that around, the Suns will be in some trouble.
3. Klay Thompson
The defending NBA champions have gotten off to a slow start to the season, especially on defense.
One reason for their struggles is the play of Klay Thompson.
When talking about the greatest shooters of all time, you should not say many names before Thompson’s.
To start the year, the 32-year-old is averaging 11.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game.
Also, it is troubling that Klay is only shooting 28.6% from three.

While his first four games have been disappointing, better days are ahead for the five-time All-Star.
Thompson did not play much in the off\season so he is still knocking off the rust.
But, if he can get back to shooting at a high-level and playing good defense, the Warriors should make another title run.
