The James Harden rumors are heating up as the NBA trade deadline is fast approaching.
Will he be traded before Thursday’s deadline, ending the Big 3 experiment for the Brooklyn Nets?
ESPN’s Brian Windhorst came out Wednesday morning and said it was basically a done deal.
.@WindhorstESPN says Ben Simmons-James Harden trade discussions are absolutely happening 👀
"The teams are absolutely engaged in trade discussions. … As far as I can tell, we're in the deal zone between Harden and Simmons." pic.twitter.com/gvZfNTfCFk

Windhorst claimed the Nets and Philadelphia 76ers were discussing the details of a swap of Harden for Ben Simmons.
That instantly set off excitement among the NBA world.
But then his own ESPN colleague, Adrian Wojnarowski, shut down the rumors.
"There is no negotiations" between the 76ers and the Nets regarding James Harden.

He said there is nothing going on between the two sides.
So which is it?
An Answer Will Come Soon
The NBA trade deadline is an exciting time of rumors and shock when trades finally do go down.
Fans just have to wait until Thursday afternoon to get their answer on Harden’s status.
It is no secret the 76ers would love to dump Simmons, as he has not even suited up once this season.
And there has been plenty of noise surrounding Harden and his problems with the Nets.
A trade makes sense for both sides and both players involved.
All insiders want to be first on a major report like this.
It is good for their own personal brand and job prospects in the future.
There is just something weird about two co-workers having contradicting reports on the same network.
Either Windhorst knows something Woj doesn’t, or the latter is calling out the real truth given his status as one of the top insiders in all of sports.
Time will tell what happens as the bigger story here is the fact the Nets may be imploding before our eyes.
