The Brooklyn Nets are in serious trouble.
After starting the season 2-5, they fired their head coach Steve Nash, and have a murky future ahead.
It seems like things are headed downhill in Brooklyn, partially because of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.
The two stars of the Nets have been nothing but problems since joining Brooklyn before the 2019-20 season.
Neither player has played more than 55 games in a season since joining the Nets.
Also, there have been plenty of off-the-court issues that can damage the locker room.
Irving played only 29 games last season because he refused to get the vaccine.
Then before this year, Durant requested a trade from Brooklyn.
NBA analyst and former player J.J. Redick says Durant and Irving have destroyed the Nets’ culture.
"[Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving] have spent the last 3 seasons helping to dismantle that [Brooklyn Nets] culture, that depth."

Brooklyn Cleansing
This Nets team has the talent to be very good.
Two perennial All-Stars and other nice pieces around them could compete in the Eastern Conference.
But, that has not been the case since the Durant and Irving tenure began.
There seems to be no clear way forward as the Nets try to manage all their issues.
Another issue for the Nets is that they have Ben Simmons, who seems to be struggling in Brooklyn.
He has gotten off to a bad start this year and he looks like a shell of the player we saw in Philadelphia.
Simmons, Durant, and Irving all have huge egos that seem to get in the way of winning.
ESPN analyst Nick Friedell thinks this is the biggest mess he has ever seen.
"Awful… This right here is the most dysfunctional team I've ever seen."

Now the Nets front office needs to hire a new coach, who will have his hands full.
It remains to be seen if any coach in the world can handle the problems going on in Brooklyn.
