Now that the chances of them landing Kyrie Irving are all but gone, the Los Angeles Lakers need to figure out their roster for the 2022-23 season.
They have been working hard to create a squad that can be perfectly led by LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and, yes, Russell Westbrook.
The acquisitions they’ve made in the offseason haven’t been explosive but they could definitely point the team in the right direction.
Re-signing free agent guard Dennis Schröder is a "legit consideration" for the Lakers, league sources say, depending on how the rest of their roster develops.
After one season as a Laker, Schröder played for Boston and Houston in 2021-22.

They aren’t done yet.
The latest rumor says that Dennis Schroder is a “legit consideration” for LA, depending on how the rest of their roster develops.
That last point is important because it suggests the Lakers are planning to make moves.
Schroder Circles Back
Lakers fans remember Schroder played for the team in the 2020-21 season, averaging 15.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 5.8 assists.
He only stuck around for one season and then moved onto the Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets.
LA may call upon him again but it depends on other moves they are contemplating.
There have been rumors of them trying to get Buddy Hield, Myles Turner, or other players.
Schroder might be one of the acquisitions they aim for and he could be beneficial to the team, specifically James.
One of the major reasons the team landed Westbrook was because they thought his ball-handling would take some pressure off the aging James.
That obviously didn’t work out as planned but if the Lakers scoop up Schroder, they’ll certainly encourage him to make plays, run the ball, and give James a bit of a break.
However, his previous time with the Los Angeles squad was mixed so it seems like the Lakers aren’t racing to make this deal happen.
