The Memphis Grizzlies may have found a brilliant new NBA talent.
Anyone watching the NBA Summer League on Wednesday night would have seen the Grizzlies facing off against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
In the end, the Thunder came out on top but fans of the Grizzlies were still left smiling.
That’s because they got a good look at Kenny Lofton Jr., who put up 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Lofton looked like someone who was eager to prove himself and shut down the Thunder whenever he could.
In fact, he made life miserable for OKC rookie Chet Holmgren, which caught the eye of everyone watching.
Kenny Lofton Jr might not make it to 2023 on that Two-Way deal. What a steal by the Grizzlies. He should be a on a standard contract by the end of the year for sure.

Keith Smith remarked on Lofton, who currently has a two-way contract with plans to play in the G League before possibly moving into the NBA, saying, “Kenny Lofton Jr might not make it to 2023 on that Two-Way deal.”
Smith went on: “What a steal by the Grizzlies. He should be on a standard contract by the end of the year for sure.”
Smith might be right but Lofton needs to keep it up to make it a reality.
Lofton In The League
Lofton definitely did some terrific work during Wednesday night’s Summer League game and had some incredible highlights showing just what he can do when he’s in the zone.
There was room for improvement, of course: he had four turnovers and five fouls (players are allowed 10 fouls in the Summer League so he didn’t have to be benched) but the amount of promise in Lofton is huge.
The fact that he held his own against Holmgren is a great sign and ensures that the Grizzlies will be paying close attention to him.
