The Cleveland Cavaliers and Kevin Love are about to end their marriage.
Love stood in The Land for nearly a decade, serving as their third sword in that Big 3 that brought them their first and only NBA championship.
He agreed to sign a contract even after LeBron James and Kyrie Irving left.
And while things weren’t always good or smooth between him and the front office, he eventually stayed long enough to help them become a contender again, this time as a veteran leader and mentor.
But with his playing time drastically going down and the young Cavs looking to get faster and more athletic, this partnership was bound to end soon.
So, now that Love will be able to sign with nearly every team that wants him, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst pointed at the Phoenix Suns as a potential suitor for the former All-Star:
“A team in the Western Conference, though, that I’d keep an eye out for (are) the Suns,” Windhorst said. “The Suns have been doing some background research into Kevin over the last 24 hours. (…) The new-look Suns have a roster spot, have a bunch of money they can still pay to free agents. So, keep an eye on the Suns as a contender for Kevin Love.”

The Suns have already signed sharpshooting guard/forward Terrence Ross after he was bought out by the Orlando Magic, not to mention the trade that got them Kevin Durant.
They’ve now become a huge threat to win the NBA Championship, which would obviously be an appealing prospect for the aging Kevin Love.
Moreover, they also lost some depth at the power forward position, and they could even start Love next to the more physical Deandre Ayton.
The Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, Portland Trail Blazers, and Miami Heat are also reportedly keeping an eye on the former Minnesota Timberwolves star, so it won’t be long before we see him take the floor again.
