The National Basketball Association is where amazing happens, and this season won’t be the exception to that rule.
Year after year, General Managers work around the clock to try and improve their rosters, which often means that a star player could be on the move.
We’ve seen some huge trade-deadline deals go down throughout the years, like the Los Angeles Lakers trading for Pau Gasol or the Boston Celtics acquiring Ray Allen.
However, that may not be the case this season, according to NBA insider Keith Smith:
“We could get a blockbuster deal before the NBA trade deadline, but it feels like instead it might be a series of smaller moves where contenders fortify their depth. Still interesting, but not feeling like we’ll get any of the major swings like we got last year,” Smith wrote.

Nonetheless, that doesn’t mean we’ll have a boring trade deadline, as there will be multiple players reportedly up for grabs.
The Toronto Raptors will reportedly be one of the most aggressive sellers, with the likes of OG Anunoby, Fred VanVleet, Gary Trent Jr., and Pascal Siakam available.
The Portland Trail Blazers could also reportedly look to move Jusuf Nurkic, Jerami Grant, Justise Winslow, and Gary Payton II.
The Phoenix Suns still need to find a new home for Jae Crowder, with Deandre Ayton also being linked with a potential move out of the desert.
And last but not least, some believe that the Chicago Bulls could also blow their roster up, with Goran Dragic, Coby White, Andre Drummond, and even Patrick Williams, DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic, and/or Zach LaVine as potential trade candidates.
So, while we won’t see Kevin Durant or Joel Embiid landing in a new team, you better believe we’ll still have plenty of exciting moves.
