After a major hiccup, the search for the Charlotte Hornets’ new head coach continues.
As you may know, the team had found their next coach when the front office selected Kenny Atkinson to lead LaMelo Ball and the rest of the squad.
Everything seemed to be going well until Atkinson surprisingly changed his mind and backed out of the position.
So now the hunt for a new HC goes on.
Mike D’Antoni is set to meet with Charlotte Hornets owner Michael Jordan on the franchise’s coaching job today, sources tell ESPN. D’Antoni was the other Charlotte finalist before Kenny Atkinson changed his mind on accepting position and stayed in Golden State on Saturday.

Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Mike D’Antoni is set to meet up with Michael Jordan, the Hornets’ owner, on Tuesday.
It sounds like the job is most likely his since he was the other top pick for the position along with Atkinson.
Is Charlotte making the right choice by bringing D’Antoni on board?
Michael Meeting Mike
The meeting between Jordan and D’Antoni means that the Hornets are one step closer to hiring one of the most storied coaches in NBA history.
D’Antoni has been all over the league throughout his career.
He has been a head coach for the Denver Nuggets, Phoenix Suns, New York Knicks, Los Angeles Lakers, and Houston Rockets.
D’Antoni has also been the assistant coach for the Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers, Suns, Philadelphia 76ers, and, most recently, the Brooklyn Nets.
And that doesn’t even touch upon his time in the Italian league coaching overseas.
D’Antoni is well-respected among players and he is known for his skill at taking young players and making them reach their potential.
That sounds like it’ll come in handy with this youthful, up-and-coming Charlotte squad.
There is an awful lot of talent on the Hornets roster but the team has yet to make an impact on the league.
Is D’Antoni key to making that happen?
