For the last few weeks, we have heard that the Utah Jazz were thinking of trading away Bojan Bogdanovic.
In fact, it felt like the trade was only a matter of time.
Well, now it’s official, although the Bosnian star isn’t going to the new team that many expected.

It was announced that Bogdanovic is going to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Kelly Olynyk and Saben Lee, who will now make their home with the Jazz.
This is a fairly significant change for Bogdanovic, who has played for multiple teams since entering the NBA in 2014.
It immediately helps Detroit’s chances of making the playoffs – but it isn’t going to change them overnight.
Bogdanovic Bound For Detroit
During his last season, Bogdanovic averaged 18.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists a game.
The forward is known for his offensive skills (his three-point percentage is 39.2%) and his speed, even at the age of 33.
He has a lot of experience, including during the postseason.
He has made the playoffs while on the roster of the Brooklyn Nets, Washington Wizards, Indiana Pacers, and the Jazz.
While he would certainly give the Pistons a big boost when it comes to playoff expertise, it might be some time before the team makes it that far.
Detroit is still a long way off from making the postseason again.
They have been cobbling together first-round picks and are in a better position than they have been in years but it’s still not enough to get them out of the depths of the Eastern Conference.
Many people assumed Bogdanovic would be traded to the Lakers, who were reportedly looking to steal him away from Utah.
Yet, once again that team has come up empty-handed and missed another substantial trade.
