For the last week, the NBA has been in a full-on free agency frenzy.
We have heard about numerous huge trade packages, including those with Dejounte Murray, Rudy Gobert, Malik Monk, and more.
But here’s the thing: none of those trades were actually official when they were announced.
As of 12:01 PM ET today, deals can be made official. All those trades from the last couple of weeks can be finalized. All the free agent signings too.
Pro tip: you’ll know a deal is done when the teams tweet about welcoming the new players to town.

As NBA writer Keith Smith points out, all of the free agency trades and signings announced so far only became official at 12:01 PM ET on Wednesday, July 6.
Smith reminded fans that you’ll know the deal is complete when teams announce it on their social media feeds.
But don’t let your guard down now: more free agency fireworks are expected.
More To Come
Obviously there are still a lot of questions swirling around the league right now.
The biggest is this: where are Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving headed?
But there are other questions, such as what will happen with Deandre Ayton of the Phoenix Suns?
There is a chance that more big surprises are coming up soon, that’s what this time of year is all about.
In the meantime, all of the teams that have already made trades and signings will start to move forward and forge a path ahead.
Take the Sacramento Kings, for example: they’ve made a few big deals with Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter.
In the months ahead, they are going to work with this new lineup and get themselves prepared for the new season.
NBA fans have a lot to look forward to: there are more trades on the way, Summer League is getting started, then the wait until preseason games and training camp.
Sure, the season is over but the NBA never really stops completely.
