The Los Angeles Lakers started off the season 2-10, and not many people thought they would stand a chance of making it to the play-in tournament.
Fast forward to today, and they’re up 1-0 on the reigning NBA champions in the Western Conference semifinals and look like a legit threat to go the distance.
Recently, NBA insider Shams Charania pointed out that they have a big shot at winning the ring if Anthony Davis stays as dominant as he was in Game 1 vs. the Dubs and LeBron James doesn’t struggle from the field like he did vs. the Memphis Grizzlies.
“If LeBron James is LeBron James… and Anthony Davis is dominant like this, they have a chance to win a championship” 🏆@ShamsCharania on this #Lakers team. #LakeShow #RunItBack pic.twitter.com/ljrtQUJLXG

Davis ruled the glass with a 30-point, 23-rebound performance on nearly 60% from the floor.
The Warriors had no answer or counter for him, and he was making even heavily-contested mid-range shots.
Davis is one of the most unstoppable and versatile scorers in the league when he’s at his finest.
He can put the ball on the floor, knock down shots from beyond the arc, and has smooth footwork to get whatever he wants inside the restricted area.
As for LeBron, he doesn’t need a cover letter anymore at this point in his career.
He’s made a living out of his efficient scoring, and he did average nearly 29 points per game on 50% from the floor this season, so that shouldn’t be an issue for him going forward.
So, it won’t be easy, and this series is far from over, but don’t sleep on Darvin Ham’s team as a big candidate to take the Larry O’Brien trophy home.
