The Phoenix Suns aren’t messing around.
New owner Mat Ishbia wanted to make a statement in his first year in charge of the organization, and what better way to do it than by trading for Kevin Durant?
The Suns were already one of the teams to beat in the Western Conference, and Durant’s addition pretty much makes them the biggest candidate in the league.
Of course, everybody needs to buy in and live up to the standards, and according to Brian Windhorst of ESPN, it seems like the morale is at an all-time high in the Valley of the Sun.
Windhorst revealed that Monty Williams’ team just had a two-hour practice, their longest since training camp.
Moreover, he claimed that players had a different energy and buzz around them, all positive signs for a team that’s looking to make a stride.

The Durant trade could go down as the most impactful move in franchise history, even ahead of when they acquired Charles Barkley from the Philadelphia 76ers.
But they still need to develop some chemistry on the court, and Durant won’t be available to make his debut until March 1 at the very earliest.
There’s no denying that the Suns now have enough talent to take down every team in the league in a seven-game series, and that’s why it’ll be so key for all the players to be on the same page, intensity-wise.
So, look out, NBA, the Suns are coming, and they want to leave nothing to chance this time.
