The Chicago Bulls‘ Lonzo Ball has had a very hard time staying healthy in his six seasons in the NBA.
He suffered a meniscus injury last January, and he did not only miss the remainder of last season, but he has been out for all of this season as well.
Now, he is reportedly set to undergo a third surgical procedure on his injured knee in the last 14 months, and it is a procedure that could cost him all of next season.

In fact, the Bulls have said this third procedure will force Ball to sit out “indefinitely,” and there is concern that perhaps his entire NBA career could be in jeopardy.
Plenty of fans feel his career is already over for all intents and purposes.
Those knees are bad. Its a rap for Lonzo.

When he was taken by the Los Angeles Lakers with the second pick in the 2017 draft, there was massive hype surrounding him, much of it coming from his loud and controversial father.
Although Ball has been a decent starting-level point guard and a very good defender when healthy, he has fallen well short of expectations, expectations that had many calling him a franchise player and even a future Hall of Famer.
Chicago has struggled without him, as it has gone from the top-seeded team in the Eastern Conference at one point last season to a likely lottery team this year.
Once a very poor outside shooter, the UCLA product has dramatically improved his outside shooting since leaving L.A. in 2019, although his assists production has left a lot to be desired.
