All the NBA world is talking about Ime Udoka, head coach of the Boston Celtics.
To be more precise, he should be referred to as head coach of the Boston Celtics for now because his job is clearly in serious jeopardy.
It all started late Wednesday night when Adrian Wojnarowski lit up Twitter with one of his patented Woj Bombs.
However, his scoop wasn’t about a major trade, it was about a suspension.
ESPN Sources: Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka is facing possible disciplinary action – including a significant suspension – for an unspecified violation of organizational guidelines. Discussions are ongoing within the Celtics on a final determination. pic.twitter.com/1QZb0k326F

Wojnarowski reported that Udoka was facing “disciplinary action” after “an unspecified violation of organizational guidelines.”
Hours later, the truth would seemingly come out and it would paint Udoka in a very bad light – and throw the upcoming Celtics season into disarray.
Bad Times In Boston
At first, fans were flabbergasted and confused as to what was going on.
No information was coming out and it was a frustrating, confounding situation.
This Ime Udoka situation is a good example of why it’s not good to be super vague about news, seeing the wildest scenarios flying right now lol

The vagueness was definitely having some people speculate wildly about Udoka, what he had done, and what was next for him.
Eventually, it would be revealed that he had carried on a consensual intimate relationship with a female staff member.
Boston fans and NBA writers were shocked by Udoka’s actions.
My brain isn’t working right (COVID brain fog is very real!), so I’m not sure how to process all this Ime Udoka and Celtics stuff. I do know that it’s all disappointing and confusing.
I guess I’m just going to go back to bed and figure it out when more stuff settles.

Others were more disappointed that so much personal business was being publicized.
While Udoka certainly made a poor choice, some have wondered why it had to be dragged out into the daylight.
unless the Celtics planned on firing Ime Udoka — there was ZERO reason we needed to know this man’s personal business. he’s not the ONLY coach in the history of basketball to have a relationship within the organization he works for and he certainly won’t be the last

And others felt that a possible year suspension for Udoka feels completely unfair, considering that is the same suspension sentence that was given to Phoenix Suns owner Robert Sarver, although many feel his actions were far worse.
There has to be more information about this. Suspending Ime Udoka for a whole season feels incredibly grimy after Robert Sarver got the same for being Sterling 2.0, something is not adding up here

All in all, this entire episode is a troubling, disappointing one for the Celtics and Udoka.
It has left fans in an uncomfortable place where the NBA feels more like a tabloid magazine than a professional sports league.
