Not many people thought the New York Knicks could make a run this season.
They claimed Tom Thibodeau wouldn’t make it past the mid-way point of the year, and they thought Jalen Brunson was one of the most overpaid players in the league.
Fast forward to today, and the Knicks are currently the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference.
More than that, some analysts believe they could be a dark horse to pull off an upset in the first round, as their defense has been stellar for the best part of the season.
That was again on full display during Sunday’s road win over the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Knicks shot 47% from the floor and out-rebounded the Lakers 46-37.
They dominated the offensive glass almost at will, scoring 56 points in the paint and 14 second-chance points.
Also, they got Anthony Davis out of rhythm, holding him to 17 points on 18 shots in one of his worst games of the season.
That’s why NBA fans believe that the Knicks are better than most people give him credit for and believe they can go the distance if they continue this hot streak throughout the end of the regular season.

Yes 2 former Los Angeles Lakers stick it to them Julio’s Randle & Josh Hart so the New York Knicks could see how hard those former Lakers played to defeat them. Cause a lot of former players won’t played very well against there former team to be still loyal.

The Knicks would match up vs. the Philadelphia 76ers if the season were to end today.
Of course, getting past Tyrese Maxey, James Harden, and Joel Embiid would be a bit of an uphill battle.
But, with Doc Rivers’ history of underperformance in the playoffs and given the way this team is playing, we wouldn’t rule it out, either.
