Tuesday’s matchup between two NBA Western Conference heavyweights got a little heated.
It was his first career ejection across 796 career regular and postseason games.
Thompson and Booker had been going back and forth all game before things came to a boil during the third quarter.
When asked after the game what Thompson was saying, Booker replied, “Four rings. He repeated it over and over.”
The ejection was potentially a build-up of factors for Thompson.
He has been on a minutes restriction to start the season after missing significant time the past three years.
While he returned late last year for the Warriors’ title run, Golden State wanted to remain cautious.
Add on a sub-par performance during the game – 1-8 from the field and 0-5 from three – and it sent Thompson over the edge.
NBA Fan Reactions
The NBA is rarely short on drama and fan reactions to said drama.
Thompson and Booker exchanging pleasantries just kept the reactions coming.
Klay Thompson shot 1/8, let Devin Booker drop 21 on him, got salty and got ejected.

NBA fans used the opportunity to fire off some hot takes of their own.
"There was a time when Klay Thompson was the best two-way guard in the NBA and he's not the same guy."
