Just a couple of years ago, Los Angeles Lakers and NBA fans as a whole thought it was time for Anthony Davis to take over.
Even LeBron James claimed that he was ready to take a step back and give Davis the keys to the ignition, hoping he’d carry his torch once he’s ready to walk away from the team.
However, that hasn’t been the case thus far.
Other than a dominant run in the NBA bubble and some minor hot stretches, it felt like Davis had left a lot to be desired since he arrived in Southern California.

That’s why fans were so pleased to watch him put the team on his back and dominate, leading the Lakers past the New Orleans Pelicans with a 35-point, 17-rebound effort.
Thank you gang! NOW let's get to Houston and make light work of them again.

There’s no one who can deny that Davis is one of the most impactful two-way players to ever live, at least when healthy.
But besides his never-ending injury woes, some have questioned his character at times, especially since he made it to Los Angeles.
The Lakers need Davis to be their go-to guy now that James isn’t on the floor.
But it would be better for the team if he were their primary scorer, even when LeBron is back.
Banking your team’s success on a 38-year-old isn’t much of a winning formula, not even if it’s LeBron James we’re talking about.
So, fans hope he can build from this impressive performance and continue leading the way for a team that has no margin for error until the end of the season.
