The NBA wanted to start the 2022-23 season with a bang and so they scheduled some of the biggest teams for opening night.
There has been a lot of speculation about which teams would get things started in 2022.
Would it be the reigning champions, the Golden State Warriors?
Maybe it would be their recent Finals rivals, the Boston Celtics?
In the end, both of these teams will be playing – just not against each other.

The NBA announced that the 2022-23 season will start with the Philadelphia 76ers facing off against the Boston Celtics as the Los Angeles Lakers take on the Golden State Warriors.
All of the excitement kicks off on October 18.
It’s going to be a wild night and it could give us a good taste of what’s to come in the season ahead.
The Golden Era Continues
The Warriors are hoping to build upon their recent Finals victory and immediately remind people that they are the greatest team in the NBA.
The Celtics, on the other hand, are hoping to assert dominance in the East on the very first night of the season, while the 76ers are eager to show that all their offseason training and planning paid off.
As for the Lakers, they are keen to show fans that they are doing something – anything – to get back on track and make last season a distant memory.
Of all the teams participating on opening night, LA has the toughest challenge because they were one of the worst teams in the league last season and now they are taking on the best team.
No matter what goes down, opening night for the new season will definitely grab our attention.
