One didn’t have to be a basketball savant to realize that this Los Angeles Lakers team wasn’t going anywhere.
Of course, Anthony Davis, LeBron James, and Russell Westbrook are more than capable of carrying any team to the top.
But with Davis’ constant health concerns and Westbrook coming off the bench, it’s often felt like LeBron has been left alone on an island.
So, once again, the narrative around the league is centered on how the Lakers have failed LeBron and how they must trade all their picks to get him help right now.
That’s why FS1’s Chris Broussard slammed that narrative once and for all, stating that never has people talked so much about getting a player help as it’s happened with LeBron:
“I’ve never in my years of covering or watching the NBA, ever seen a player that there’s a constant talk of, ‘We have to get him help to help him win’ — like it’s LeBron’s birthright to have a readymade championship contender. Michael Jordan in Chicago, first year. [Kevin] Durant in Oklahoma City. David Robinson in San Antonio. I’ve never heard so much talk about ‘we gotta make a move’ — everybody, not just the team,” Broussard said.

That’s fair.
Also, it’s fair to state that one of LeBron’s haters’ biggest arguments against him is how many superteams he’s put together to win championships.
But hey, at the end of the day, no one can win on his own.
Michael Jordan couldn’t, Kevin Durant couldn’t, and David Robinson couldn’t.
