On Tuesday, the Chicago Bulls finally announced what many people have suspected: Lonzo Ball will not play in the 2022-23 season.
The knee injury that he suffered last year has gotten better but he is not yet ready to return to the court.
Instead of rushing his rehabilitation, the Bulls elected to let him rest for the remainder of the season in hopes that he will be ready to play when 2023-24 begins.
However, many questions about Ball’s injury remain.
According to Tristan Thompson, Lonzo Ball’s agent says doctors all over the country said Lonzo’s knee injury is “unique” and something “they have never seen before”

Former player and current NBA analyst Tristan Thompson talked about Ball and his recovery and he painted a troubling picture.
According to Thompson, Ball’s agent said that doctors “all over the country” feel that the knee injury is “unique” and something “they have never seen before.”
It is important to note that NBA organizations have access to the best sports medicine professionals in the world.
Therefore, if they really do feel that this injury is completely unique and unlike anything that’s come before, that’s very problematic.
Although the Bulls claim confidence about Ball coming back at the start of next season, nothing is promised.
Remember, Ball was supposed to be back at the start of this season, and then Christmas, and then after that.
The fact that his re-entry to the league has been repeatedly pushed back shows how little is truly understood about what’s bothering him.
Hopefully, Ball’s rehabilitation really is moving along and the doctors have figured out the best course of action to push him forward.
Bulls fans have been in the dark about this injury for more than a year and they are eager to see some notable progress.NEXT: NBA Analyst Believes The Bulls' Time Is Up
