In the months ahead, NBA fans will have a lot of storylines to follow, including who is the frontrunner for this season’s MVP.
Right now, most people feel that Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets will make history and claim this third consecutive trophy.
But nothing is determined until all the votes are counted and there is a good chance that the selection process will be extremely close this year.

Speaking to ESPN, NBA writer and insider Brian Windhorst talked about a recent straw poll he voted in and made his choice for MVP clear: Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks.
Windhorst cited several reasons why the Greek Freak has received his support, including the fact that he is dominant on both ends of the court and that he has been having a stellar season despite injuries to both knees.
“This guy does so much for his team at both ends of the court,” Windhorst said.
He added, “We’ve rarely seen it in the history of the league.”
Windhorst made some good points about Antetokounmpo’s incredible power and the wonderful season he’s had.
He also brought up the fact that the Bucks, as great as they are, have been performing with multiple injuries.
Antetokounmpo is just one of the star players on the squad who has been playing through injuries.
Khris Middleton, for example, still isn’t even starting most of the time as he continues to rehabilitate.
This important fact surely strikes fear into the heart of the rest of the NBA.
Antetokounmpo and his Bucks are currently the best team in the East, slightly ahead of the Boston Celtics.
And they have achieved that despite injuries, which will heal more as the postseason approaches.
That means that we may see a fully healthy Bucks when it matters most.
