The last several weeks in the NBA have been both incredibly exciting and also incredibly exhausting too.
For fans of some teams, it’s been a very rewarding time.
For fans of others, it’s been nothing but painful.
NBA writer Sam Quinn pointed out that the weeks following the NBA All-Star break have been impressive.
If you think the NBA has been awesome since the break, it's not just you. In the past 12 days, we've had:
– Seven OT games
– Nine OT periods
– 19 Games decided by three points or less
– 27 Games decided by five points or less
– Comebacks of 27 (LAL/DAL) and 28 (BKN/BOS) points— Sam Quinn (@SamQuinnCBS) March 7, 2023
They have featured seven overtime games and nine overtime periods.
Additionally, there have been 19 games decided by three points or less and an astonishing 27 games decided by five points or less.
Most impressively, we have seen a comeback of 27 points and then another of 28.
The last few weeks have been terrific for the New York Knicks, who have won nine in a row and climbed to fifth place in the East.
And while their incredible winning streak has come to an end, the Milwaukee Bucks have also had a strong few weeks and are now the best team in their conference.
Other teams, like the New Orleans Pelicans, have experienced some trouble while the Boston Celtics have hit their roughest patch of the season.
Those two comeback games feature a pair of teams who are showing some promise despite being counted out by others.
The Los Angeles Lakers were able to fight back from a 27-point deficit against the Dallas Mavericks while the Brooklyn Nets bounced back after being down by 28 against the Celtics.
Those were two of the most exciting games of the season so far.
Fans of the league feel the tension rise as the postseason gets closer.
In just a few weeks, the regular season will come to a close and the playoffs could make this stretch of games feel weak by comparison.
