Carmelo Anthony is coming off of a great season with the Los Angeles Lakers.
The 38-year-old star saw limited minutes due to his age but he still made them count, averaging 13.3 points and 4.2 rebounds a game.
Yet, despite that, there are some people who think his time in the league should come to an end.
I really hope we aren't playing the "let's not sign Carmelo" game… the "He's washed" game… the 10x NBA All-Star averaged 13.3 points per game on 37.5% shooting from the three-point range last season.. there are not 400 players in the world better than @carmeloanthony !!!!!!

Anthony is currently a free agent looking for a team and the bad talk against him is too much for some.
NBA analyst Ben Stinar has had it up to here with those discounting Anthony.
“I really hope we aren’t playing the ‘let’s not sign Carmelo’ game… the ‘He’s washed’ game… the 10x NBA All-Star averaged 13.3 points per game on 37.5% shooting from the three-point range last season.. there are not 400 players in the world better than @carmeloanthony!!!!!!” Stinar said on Twitter.
The man has a point: there is no way anyone can honestly consider Anthony “washed”.
Still, will he find a new team before the season begins?
Carmelo To The Celtics?
Recently, rumors of Anthony going to the Boston Celtics have emerged.
The Celtics signing Anthony makes a lot of sense, considering they just lost Danilo Gallinari to injury.
Anthony would fill the void left by Gallinari and would come cheaply.
However, inside reporting suggests that the Celtics won’t make that move and will instead rely on the talent they already have instead of signing someone new.
But this doesn’t mean that Anthony is “washed” or isn’t worthy of signing.
There are plenty of teams in the league that would be smart to get Anthony – including the Lakers, who were greatly benefitting from him coming off the bench.

Best team for Carmelo is the Grizzlies. With Ja and Crew, Carmelo can add vetran experience to put them over the edge next season. They should sign him for three years on veteran contract.
