The Los Angeles Lakers made a move that many were expecting on Wednesday night, as they traded Russell Westbrook to the Utah Jazz in a three-team deal that brought them D’Angelo Russell, Malik Beasley, and Jarred Vanderbilt.
This was not a trade that surprised many, as most insiders and analysts predicted Westbrook would be on the move.
However, while Westbrook was officially sent to the Jazz, all reporting suggests they will offer Westbrook a buyout which means he won’t actually play in Salt Lake City.

But NBA insider Chris Haynes is reporting that both the Los Angeles Clippers and Chicago Bulls are interested in Westbrook if he agrees to the buyout with the Jazz.
This means that Westbrook won’t be off the court for long and he will likely find a new home to play for within just a few days.
Now the question is which of those teams will come out on top in the race for Westbrook.
The Clippers would be the easiest move for Westbrook, simply because he already lives in Los Angeles.
Additionally, his talents lend themselves to a team like the Clippers.
It would be interesting to see him playing in Chicago, as he could add a lot of stamina and power to the team’s lacking offense.
Westbrook’s time with the Lakers never worked out as it was supposed to.
He didn’t fit into the roster as the team had hoped.
But he always played with drive and determination and he is sure to do that on the new team that acquires him.
No matter where he goes, Westbrook will perform with a strong motor that doesn’t turn off, for better or for worse.
