Although the Cleveland Cavaliers are still the fifth-best team in the East right now, they have had a few problems lately.
They have experienced losses to the New York Knicks, Oklahoma City Thunder, and recently the Miami Heat.
And their star player, Donovan Mitchell, is in something of a shooting slump right now.
The Heat hold Donovan Mitchell under 20 points for the 4th time in his last 5 games. 😳

During Tuesday’s loss to the Heat, Mitchell was held to under 20 points for the fourth time in his last five games.
For the evening, Mitchell scored 16 points, 3 rebounds, and 9 assists.
In his preceding games, Mitchell has scored 11, 24, 11, and 14 points.
For many players, those aren’t horrible numbers and his team still won during some of those matches but it’s surprising to see Mitchell producing so little.
Just a couple of weeks ago, he scored 46 against the Utah Jazz.
And we all remember when he produced 71 points against the Chicago Bulls at the start of 2023.
Every player experiences rough patches when they aren’t able to produce as much as usual.
Even with this current batch of games, Mitchell is still having an incredible year with an average of 27.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists on 47.9% from the floor.
As for his Cavaliers, they are doing better than usual too.
They were a bit higher than fifth place earlier in the season but they are still strongly in the running for a good playoff run.
The team was already promising last season but the addition of Mitchell in the summer has taken things to a much higher level.
Fans of the team are happy to see the Cavaliers still scoring a few wins even with Mitchell’s current issues.
This is giving them hope that they will be able to ride into the postseason no matter what.
