The 2022 edition of MLB‘s All-Star Game will be held on July 19 at Dodger Stadium, in Los Angeles.
That’s less than a month from now.
The rosters for the game are already taking shape, according to the Washington Post’s Chelsea Janes.
“First round of ASG voting results announced. Not a ton of surprises here,” she tweeted, with a picture of the results so far.
Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees has been the leading vote-getter so far, with 1,512,368 votes.

A Star-Studded Group
Willson Contreras and Alejandro Kirk are the leading catchers; Paul Goldschmidt and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (even in a somewhat down season) lead at first base; and the dynamic Jazz Chisholm Jr. and the former MVP Jose Altuve lead at the keystone.
The injured Manny Machado paces third basemen in voting, and Rafael Devers does it in the American League.
Mookie Betts, Ronald Acuna Jr., Joc Pederson; Judge, Mike Trout, and George Springer form a strong outfield group; and Bryce Harper and Yordan Alvarez have been the leading designated hitters when it comes to votes.
As Janes notes, there aren’t many surprises in the MLB fans’ votes, except for perhaps Kirk and maybe Pederson (not that they aren’t deserving, of course).
Devers over Jose Ramirez may seem a bit shocking, too, but the Boston Red Sox third baseman has been just as impressive as the Cleveland Guardians’ star.
Fans vote on the starters for both teams, while players, coaches, and managers select pitchers.
There is also a process to send one final player to the All-Star festivities (the “Final Vote” in each league), and each team’s manager together with the Commissioner’s Office will choose replacement players.
It will be an exciting edition of the MLB All-Star Game despite some potential injury-related absences.
