Los Angeles Angels fans should be very concerned.
After the team started off the season on a high note, they have lost their last 11 games, which seemed impossible a few weeks ago given how good they were playing.
It’s hard to believe a club that has Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout, two of the best players in MLB right now (many folks would argue that they are the best two) can’t win for 11 straight games.
But baseball is always full of surprises.
The losing streak is starting to reach a worrisome point.
“#Angels now have 11 losses in a row. Only 3 teams in #MLB history had an 11-game losing streak in a season they still made the playoffs: 2017 Dodgers, 1982 Braves, 1951 Giants. No team has lost more than 11 in a row and still made playoffs,” David Benjamin Firstman tweeted.

The Angels Will Need To Start Stringing Wins Together Soon
Statistical trends are there to give us some context about where a team or player currently stands, but they don’t necessarily mean that the scenario they paint as the most likely will actually take place.
What does it mean?
If the Angels lose their next game (the 12th in a row, hypothetically), it won’t necessarily mean that their postseason hopes are automatically doomed.
But they are already hanging by a thread because they are under .500 and 8.5 games behind the Houston Astros, with four very competitive teams in the AL East and some potential surprises in the AL Central.
There is still a lot of baseball to be played, but the Angels will need to start winning soon if they don’t want to suffer the same fate they have been suffering since 2015: no playoffs.
