MLB Reveals Its Top Stars From The Month Of June

The month of June featured several impressive performances in the MLB universe.

The league just released its team of the month, after the calendar flipped to July.

The squad is filled with stars, but also has a notable omission.

Alejandro Kirk is the starting catcher, with Josh Bell, Jake Cronenworth, Dansby Swanson, and Brandon Drury in the infield.

Kyle Schwarber, Byron Buxton, and Michael Harris II occupy the outfield, while Yordan Alvarez is the designated hitter and Emmanuel Clase is the relief pitcher.

It’s surprising, however, not to see Shohei Ohtani in some form or position.

As you can see, the Los Angeles Angels star had a terrific month:

Ohtani Deserved Some Recognition Too

Six homers and a .973 OPS while hitting and a 1.52 ERA and 38 strikeouts while pitching means he was seriously, overwhelmingly good.

In any case, he probably would be willing to trade a few appearances in MLB’s Team of the Month for a chance to repeat as the American League MVP.

Right now, he has fierce competition by Aaron Judge and Alvarez, but remains a strong candidate.

In any case, every member of the team above is deserving of the recognition they just received.

Schwarber, as he has seemingly done every June, went on a homer barrage, while Alvarez (currently on the concussion protocol) performed like an MVP, too.

Drury has turned around his career in Cincinnati, and Harris is starting his on the right foot with the Atlanta Braves.

Cease was incredible on the mound with the Chicago White Sox, and is one of the reasons they are still relatively close to the top spot in the AL Central despite some lousy all-around play.
