Rule changes are coming for MLB.
In 2023, the league will look a lot different than it does right now.
The bases will be wider, the shift will be banned, and a pitch clock will be installed.
There are many in favor of these changes who believe that there will finally be some excitement back in the game.
Others believe that these changes are not for the better, and that in the long run, baseball will lose more fans as a result of these changes, even some diehard fans.
Blake Treinen is one of the people who is not in favor of these changes, believing that MLB’s fan base will take a hit as a result.
If there’s one issue players at large aren’t united on, it’s probably rule changes, and the extent to which they’re necessary in order to quicken the pace of play. Blake Treinen, as an example, is not in favor. … pic.twitter.com/P4738CjKyy

Will The Changes Help?
Whether these changes will help the game of baseball in the long run or hurt it is a matter of opinion at this point, as they won’t go into effect until the 2023 season.
But Treinen made his point clear.
It is possible that these changes could alienate the purists, who are the most passionate fans of baseball.
It could be risky and trying to appeal to people who have lost interest in the game could be a dangerous tactic that could ultimately have a negative impact on the game.
But at the same time, baseball needs to appeal more to the younger generation of fans.
The younger demographic is turning away from the sport at a rapid rate, and this could potentially cause irreparable damage to the game of baseball.
Younger sports fans seem to prefer sports that move more quickly, and baseball has been slowing down in recent years.
It could potentially be a lose-lose situation for baseball, which is desperate to become relevant again.
