Pitching is the name of the game in MLB, and many people can agree.
However, scoring runs is almost as important: a specific team won’t get to the World Series if it can’t put runs on the scoreboard.
That’s also a fact.
The league’s official site ranked the top ten lineups in baseball heading into the 2023 campaign.
There are some strong units in the league.

There should be no question that the best lineup in MLB belongs to the reigning World Series champions, the Houston Astros.
They added Jose Abreu to an already elite core of Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker, Alex Bregman, Jose Altuve, Jeremy Pena, and Chas McCormick.
Oh, and they also re-signed Michael Brantley.
This unit is oozes upside and will score lots of runs.
The San Diego Padres lost Jurickson Profar and Josh Bell, but it’s safe to say that adding Xander Bogaerts, Matt Carpenter, Nelson Cruz and Fernando Tatis Jr. to the 2022 foundation is a much, much better scenario.
The Toronto Blue Jays complete the top ten.
They boast Vladimir Guerrero Jr., George Springer, Bo Bichette, Matt Chapman, Alejandro Kirk, and other top sluggers.
Five National League contenders are up next in the ranking: the St. Louis Cardinals, the Atlanta Braves, the New York Mets, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the reigning NL champs, the Philadelphia Phillies.
St. Louis signed Willson Contreras, Atlanta added Sean Murphy, and the Phils brought in Trea Turner.
The New York Yankees didn’t make any major lineup additions and are ninth, and the Cleveland Guardians are a surprising tenth after adding Mike Zunino and Josh Bell.
It wouldn’t shock anyone to see the 2023 World Series champion come from this group of 10.
