There are four teams remaining.
In the NLCS, we have two underdogs in the Philadelphia Phillies and San Diego Padres, both of whom were the bottom two Wild Card seeds in the National League.
Meanwhile, in the ALCS, we’ve got two powerhouses going at it for the third time in the last six years.
The Houston Astros and the New York Yankees have been here before and will square off yet again.
With the NLCS already underway and the ALCS set to begin tonight in Houston, MLB has decided to rank the four remaining teams in the hunt.
The Astros are ranked at the top, while the Padres, Phillies, and Yankees follow in that order.

MLB Releases Updated Rankings
Of course, MLB’s rankings aren’t always accurate.
At the start of the postseason, they ranked the Padres 12th out of the teams that were still alive.
All the Padres did was knock out the New York Mets and curb beat the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS.
The Phillies also weren’t ranked high on the list, but they still managed to take out the St. Louis Cardinals and do the exact same to the Atlanta Braves, knocking them off the throne as defending World Series champions.
The Yankees are ranked at the bottom this time around, and there are obvious reasons why this could turn out to be wrong.
Giancarlo Stanton and Harrison Bader are swinging hot bats and Aaron Judge can never be counted out.
They also just defeated the young, upstart Cleveland Guardians in a thrilling five-game ALDS.
We’ll have to see how these rankings hold up.
They didn’t hold up very well the last time around.
