The updated power rankings for MLB have been released.
Some things are the same, while other things have changed a little bit.
The St. Louis Cardinals and the San Diego Padres have moved up a little bit in the rankings.
But one thing remains the same.
Both the New York Yankees and the New York Mets remain in the top two spots.
The Yankees have pretty much dominated everybody they’ve come across this year.
The Mets have had a tougher road due to injuries, but their story is very similar.
MLB tweeted their updated power rankings list yesterday.

Empire State Of Power Rankings
The two teams from the Empire State are still dominating.
It’s an “Empire State of Mind,” or should we say an Empire State of power rankings?
Maybe Jay-Z needs to do an updated version of his old classic with Alicia Keys.
But the Mets and the Yankees appear to be those teams that are duking it out at the top.
This could be a prelude to a Subway Series in the fall.
It certainly seems like a real possibility that these two teams could meet in the World Series.
That would do wonders for the TV markets.
But so far, it’s looking like these two teams are the best in the business right now.
Their roads to the top have been different.
The Yankees have pretty much rolled over every team they’ve come across while the Mets have fought through injuries and put their depth to good use.
It’s exciting to see two teams hold firm at the top and it gets fans thinking about what could happen come October.
We’ll see if a Subway Series is in the cards.
