Jackie Robinson Day is Friday.
Every year on the 15th of April, every player in Major League Baseball will wear the No. 42 as a way to celebrate the anniversary of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier in baseball.
Robinson of course wore No. 42, which is retired across Major League Baseball by all teams.
It’s a special day in MLB history and one that is significant in the fight for social justice across the United States of America.
But several players are taking it a step further.
According to USA Today’s MLB insider Bob Nightengale, these players will all donate their salary from Friday’s games to invest in inner city and rural baseball teams.

Fighting For What’s Right
It’s nice to see these players stepping up for a good cause.
This is much bigger than baseball.
It’s a step in the right direction as our society continues to fight for social justice and equal rights.
It’s always nice to see players take time out of their day to do the right thing.
Jackie Robinson stood for more than just baseball.
He was a beacon of light for underprivileged communities who were simply fighting for an equal shot in life to be successful.
Players of course take this day to heart and do what they can to honor a man who corrected one of the game’s great wrongs.
Celebrities and professional athletes have a platform to speak their minds and try to make the world a better place, and it’s good to see these players using their platforms for the right reasons.
This is a big step for MLB as it continues its mission to provide people from underprivileged communities a chance to play the game.
