A new union may be starting to take shape for MLB in the near future.
Last night, members of the Major League Baseball Players Association launched a campaign to try and unionize minor league players.
One of the main missions for the MLBPA during the lockout was to try and fight for minor league players and give them more financial flexibility as they began their professional careers.
Bob Nightengale of USA Today announced the news via Twitter, including a statement from the MLBPA and its leader, Tony Clark.
“Minor Leaguers represent our game’s future and deserve wages and working conditions that befit elite athletes who entertain millions of baseball fans nationwide,” said Clark. “They’re an important part of our fraternity and we want to help them achieve their goals both on and off the field.”

MLBPA Fighting For Minor Leaguers
This is a huge development within the MLBPA.
It’s clear that they want minor leaguers to be a part of the MLBPA and to have more of a voice so that they can experience better pay and better living conditions as they begin their professional baseball careers.
This is a chance for minor leaguers to experience something better.
One of the best things about the Players Association is that they stick together and fight for each other.
This includes fighting for minor leaguers, who for far too long, have not had much of a say when it comes to negotiations between the Players Association and the league.
Hopefully, this will all work out and minor leaguers will experience some key advancements early in their careers.
The Players Association is doing the right thing by trying to help include minor leaguers in an important process.
We’ll see if it all works out.
