Recently, MLB Now ranked the Top 10 third basemen in all of baseball.
To the surprise of many, especially fans of the St. Louis Cardinals, Nolan Arenado, who is arguably the best defensive third baseman in the game, was ranked No. 5 on the list.
That drew the ire of fans in St. Louis.
It didn’t change anything, but MLB Network has been hearing it from Cardinals fans over the past week.
On Twitter, MLB Now offered somewhat of an olive branch to St. Louis fans, as if to admit they may have made a mistake when ranking the Top 10 third basemen, asking fans where they would personally rank Arenado among the Top 10.

Cardinals fans will see this as a classic case of “Tell me you were wrong without telling me you were wrong.”
Fans clearly were frustrated to see their slugger and MVP candidate seemingly snubbed, with players such as Austin Riley and Rafael Devers.
But it’s interesting that now they’re asking fans where they would put Arenado on the Top 10 list.
Many fans, even those outside of St. Louis, very well may put him in the top three and consider MLB Now ranking him at No. 5 as a grave mistake.
Ultimately, it won’t change the list made by MLB Now, but it almost seems as if they are somewhat acknowledging what could have been a potential mistake.
If anything, Cardinals fans made their frustration over the situation very clear.
Maybe next year, they’ll be happier with where Arenado ranks on the Top 10 list.
