The Arizona Diamondbacks will have the exciting opportunity to host the MLB Draft Combine at Chase Field this summer.
The event will take place from June 20-25 and will feature players from this year’s draft class as they get the chance to show off their skills before the draft takes place.
Diamondbacks legend and current CEO of the team Luis Gonzalez is certainly excited for the opportunity that has been presented to the organization to host such a fun event.
Today, Gonzalez stopped by MLB Network to discuss the experience of hosting the event and what it means to the Diamondbacks as an organization.

Gonzalez was first asked about what the combine could have done for him as a player if it had been around when he was on the draft board.
His response was that he wasn’t sure he would’ve been ready to enter the draft at such a young age, citing that he ultimately needed to go to college to prove himself.
Gonzalez attended the University of South Alabama.
The former slugger talked about how the work ethic of players has changed over the years and how some of them are bigger, stronger, and faster than he was at a young age.
He also talked about how watching film has become easier in recent years, which is something that players didn’t have as much access to during his time and how it ultimately prepares players for an event such as this.
Gonzalez expressed excitement for the event and his gratitude to Major League Baseball for allowing the Diamondbacks to host this event.
