Several MLB superstars have already signed post-lockout contracts: Kris Bryant, Carlos Rodon, Clayton Kershaw, and Anthony Rizzo are some of them.
Others, however, remain in the market, carefully assessing their offers and close to making a decision.
Carlos Correa, Nick Castellanos, Michael Conforto, and Trevor Story fall under that second category.
Story, the face of the post-Nolan Arenado Rockies in 2021, is unlikely to return to Colorado.
He is, according to MLB insider Jon Heyman, considering four offers.
“Superstar SS Trevor Story choosing one of 4 teams soon. Giants, Red Sox and 2 others remain in mix. Prioritizing winning. Apparently considering a short-term positional move, if necessary,” Heyman wrote.

That last line in Heyman’s tweet is the one that really jumps to the eye: he may be willing to change positions if it’s a short-term move.
Story Could Play A Different Position For His New Team
Over the last few weeks, several teams have expressed interest in Story as a center fielder or a second baseman.
The fact he is willing to temporarily switch positions only adds to his value and opens up more possibilities for him.
There are, to this point, no clues about the two mystery teams, but one has to think the New York Yankees and the Seattle Mariners could be in the mix, not to mention the Philadelphia Phillies.
Story, currently 29 years old, hit .251/.329/.471 in 2021, a bit of a down season considering his high standards.
He plays a very good shortstop, though, and has power (24 homers last year) and speed (20 stolen bases).
He will make for a very nice addition for a contender team, and is expected to be a much cheaper alternative to Correa.
