The Juan Soto sweepstakes are heating up.
After reports surfaced about him turning down a 15-year, $440 million contract, the Nationals have begun looking at trying to trade him and get some prospects in return.
And so, speculation on where Soto might end up has begun.
CBS Sports tweeted a top five list of potential landing spots for Soto from one of their analysts, R.J. Anderson.
Anderson lists the St. Louis Cardinals, Los Angeles Dodgers, and New York Yankees as the top three potential landing spots, respectively, with the San Francisco Giants and the Seattle Mariners rounding out that list of potential destinations.

Where Will Soto Land?
This is some interesting speculation right here.
Each one of these teams has the prospects to pull off a Soto deal.
But it’s highly unlikely that the Cardinals are going to be willing to part with top prospects Jordan Walker, Masyn Winn, and Matthew Liberatore, so that likely takes them out of the running.
Plus, who’s to say the Nationals won’t ask for guys like Nolan Gorman, Harrison Bader, Brendan Donovan, or potentially even Tommy Edman?
The Giants are another possibility.
That would be a pretty interesting fit if they can pull it off.
Washington will certainly be asking for prospects like catcher Joey Bart, but that would be interesting to see, and would give them a chance to challenge the Dodgers in the NL West.
It would be interesting to see him end up in Seattle as well.
The Mariners could give up a guy like Jarred Kelenic to get him.
The most likely landing spots are probably the Dodgers or the Yankees, out of the ones that Anderson lists.
But this is an interesting list, and we’ll see if one of these teams can pull it off.
