The 2022 MLB All-Star Game will be played Tuesday night in Los Angeles, but the real festivities started on Saturday with the Futures Game and kept going Monday night with the Home Run Derby.

Juan Soto and Julio Rodriguez gifted us some incredible moments in the Derby.

That was the appetizer: now, we are ready for the main dish: the Midsummer Classic.

Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani is perhaps the biggest attraction of the game.

Everybody wants to share a joke with him, greet him, or even hug him.

Besides being an incredible ballplayer with a unique talent, he has a great, outgoing, and fun-loving personality.

You could say that he exudes and attracts happiness.

Ohtani And Hendriks Shared A Cool Moment

ESPN reporter Marly Rivera shared a cool moment she witnessed yesterday at the Derby, involving Ohtani and another American League All-Star: Chicago White Sox closer Liam Hendriks.

“One of my favorite moments yesterday was witnessing Liam Hendriks asking Shohei Ohtani to take a pic… by saying ‘My wife loves you man! Can I have a pic please?!’ and Shohei (gladly) obliging, and chatting with Liam for a few minutes before heading out,” she tweeted.

It was really cool to see: two excellent players from two different cultures and upbringings sharing a chat about baseball and life.

It’s good to see, and it’s the image baseball wants to project: no matter where we come from, we can be successful in what we do and enjoy ourselves and the company of our peers.

Hendriks’ wife will be happy to see the picture of the man she loves… and Liam Hendriks.

All kidding aside, the picture and the chat will represent a nice memory for him and a cool souvenir for her.
