The World Baseball Classic is one of the most exciting events that Major League Baseball has to offer.

MLB players and those from leagues from all around the world join together to play for their respective countries in the tournament..

The whole month of March is full of joy and excitement as players prepare to represent their nations.

It’s been since 2017 that we last had the World Baseball Classic, as it was postponed last year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

But good news, baseball fans!

The WBC will be back in 2023.

MLB Network insider Jon Morosi announced the news this afternoon, capping off his tweet by saying that he is “a happy man.”

It's official!

The @WBCBaseball is back in 2023, per official @MLB and MLBPA announcement today.

I am a happy man. 😁@MLBNetwork

The WBC Is Back

This is great news for baseball.

COVID put a few things on hold in all professional sports, and baseball is no different.

Baseball suffered tremendous losses during the pandemic, and last season, we were unlucky in that the WBC was pushed back for a little while.

It typically happens every four years, but it was put on hold in 2021.

Fortunately, we’re going to have it again next year.

The last time it took place, Team USA took home the crown.

This time, they’ll look to defend that crown as the Classic returns for the first time in six years.

It’s been a long time coming, but the baseball world is finally going to get a major boost with the return of this classic event.

That’s certainly something that everybody was missing last year.

But as COVID winds down, we can finally start getting back to normal life.

The WBC returning is just the latest bit of good news to come out of the MLB world.
